Hillary Clinton pays visit to Palazzo Feinstein Part 2: Portraits of Protest

by Robert B. Livingston (gruaudemais [at] yahoo.com)
Here are some photos I took of protesters at Dianne Feinstein's San Francisco residence yesterday. They had purposefully come to greet Hillary Clinton believing she can address their concerns about war and its spread-- if only she would listen.

Portraits of Protest
San Francisco
October 1, 2007

Although the assortment of war protesters who greeted Hillary Clinton yesterday afternoon at Dianne Feinstein's San Francisco mansion (satirically dubbed "Palazzo Feinstein") came nowhere close to numbering the 65,000 "raving mad LoveFesters" who had partied in the city streets just the day before-- the protesters more than made up for the difference by the focus with which they demonstrated their passionate concerns for making the world a more permanently better place.

Unlike the ravers, whose chief intent was to briefly erase the world's troubles from their minds-- the thirty to fifty protesters who gathered at Feinstein's porch assembled to remind her and her guests, Hillary Clinton and Barbara Lee among them, that they have serious responsibilities which need to be fulfilled.

Among those responsibilities is the need to stop equivocating and work to bring our troops home now. Further, they have no business attacking Iran. Doing so would only spread more mayhem. America has many problems in dire need of solutions-- improving the profits of a voracious military-security industry and those who gamble on investments related to them should not be among its concerns.

Chief among our needs today is to impeach those who were primarily responsible for deceiving us into illegal wars. They abandoned their pledged allegiance to our Constitution on which our country stands, and they have seriously damaged our reputation in the eyes of the world. They have distracted us from our task of becoming a more just and happy society; they have possibly ruined us financially.

Without much more commentary, here are some photos of some of the special people who protested today.

My opinions do not necessarily or in all ways reflect theirs. For good information and other photos, visit
