A birthday at the Oak grove

Ayr celebrates his birthday in the Oak Grove

Tree sit organizer Ayr celebrated his birthday in the Oak Grove. many people who have been part of the struggle to save the oaks in the last 16 months were there. Guests arrived in the afternoon and originally gathered between a parking lot and the grove. When we had enough people we moved police barricades out of the way and entered the southern part of the grove. The original first fence still blocks off the central grove. The police came but we agreed to not cause problems and leave in two hours. The tree sitters came to the closest tree and after the pinata people threw them candy and they lowered themselves on ropes to have fun. We spent several hours playing games, eating, socializing and planning. This is the way that social connections are made and resistance movements grow.
