BILL MOTTO VFW POST 5888 ANNOUNCES ITS 24th ANNUAL THANKSGIVING MEAL
For the 24th year, Bill Motto VFW Post 5888 and a host of wonderful volunteers, non-profits, and local businesses have created and hosted the Thanksgiving Celebration and Dinner at the Veterans Memorial Building in downtown Santa Cruz. What began as a small dinner for some local veterans has grown into a feast and celebration for over a thousand diners who come from all walks of life to express their thanks, enjoy some fellowship, and show their generosity. Over 1000 lbs of turkey, 300 lbs of potatoes, and 100 lbs of salad and all the trimmings will be prepared and served at the free dinner on Thanksgiving Day from noon til 3 p.m. Music will be provided by Harmony Grits. The Bill Motto Post and all its friends and volunteers invite you to be part of the celebration as a guest, a volunteer or donor. If you would like to help in some way, preparations begin on November 25th and 26th at the Veterans Memorial Building. If you would like to make a donation of money or holiday foods then call 429-8345 and leave a message. Checks can be made out to VFW 5888 and mailed to P.O. Box 664, Santa Cruz, 95061. Credit card donations are accepted also, please call. Our thanks to all of those who have helped year after year, and Happy Thanksgiving!
