Candlelight, Camera, National Action for Marriage Equality in SF

by R. Robertson
Lights! Camera! National Action!
Large gatherings in San Francisco and at least 7 other locations in the greater Bay Area lit up the night for Marriage Equality on December 20.

Organizers at *Join the Impact* called for demonstrators across the nation to wear "Second Class Citizen" t-shirts, perhaps not figuring that some shopping areas in California are located in the chilly outdoors. One clever protester mounted her t-shirt on cardboard and carried it as a placard.

San Francisco seasonal shoppers don't often get such an eyeful of activism. Shortly after the Light Up the Night demo, about 70 marchers in solidarity with uprisings in Greece appeared on the scene at Union Square.

What an evening of education for the lemming-like shopaholics come to town!
