Today's in studio interview with Meredith Harris is to discuss her project THE W.E.L.L. Where Empathy Lives Life The Need, a sober living housing initiative near the Tulane uptown campus that seeks to address the Tulane student mental health related deaths that have occurred in both this and the Fall semesters. The facility would fill a need for students identified as needing drug and alcohol use intervention or treatment by providing a safe environment with like-minded peers. In preparation for the interview I met with Arielle, a collective member of the New Orleans Harm Reduction Network, New Orleans Harm Reduction Network was founded in 2011 by a small group of syringe access providers, advocates, and drug users. Today they are strengthened by a network of allies who challenge stigma faced by people who use drugs and advocate for change. here's our interview.
