District 5 Residents will get to hear from both candidates for D5 Supervisor, current supervisor, London Breed, and opponent, Dean Preston. Dean Preston is a tenants rights activist and affordable housing advocate, info [at] votedean.com. London Breed's campaign, positions and record and contact can be found at info [at] londonforsupervisor.com.
This contest is of city-wide interest as to whether the city Board of Supervisors current progressive majority will be maintained, or return to a more conservative majority. There are three open seats and the mayor may be able to appoint a long-term replacement for either Jane Kim or Scott Weiner, depending on the success or failure of Prop. D.
The event is co-sponsored by nine neighborhood organizations: Affordable Divisadero • CHNA: Cathedral Hill Neighbors Association • D5 Action • FIABA: Faith in Action Bay Area • HANC: Haight Ashbury Neighborhood Council • HVNA: Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association • LFNA: Lower Fillmore Neighborhood Association • LoHaMNA: Lower Haight Merchants and Neighbors Association • NOPNA: North of Panhandle Neighborhood Association •
