The Uhuru Solidarity Movement is hosting its August webinar on Tuesday the 22nd, 7-9pm EST / 4-6pm PST entitled “If Jews got reparations, why not the Black community?”

This webinar will address this question in the context of the ongoing oppression of the black community, the conditions of which fit the U.N.’s definition of genocide, and the right of the black community to reparations.

Featured speakers are Jesse Nevel, Chair of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement and mayoral candidate in St. Pete, FL and Eritha “Akile” Cainion, Chair of the Committee for Justice for the Three Drowned Black Girls and District 6 City Council candidate in St. Pete, FL.

Jesse, age 27 and raised Jewish, has been an organizer in the white community raising reparations to initiatives to address the grave disparities in health and education in the Black community, for nearly 10 years.

Akile, age 20 and from the black working class, has been a prominent organizer for justice for the Black community, including the three Black teenage girls drowned and murdered by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department in March of 2016.

There will be a Q&A with the speakers after their presentations!
