Hundreds of Workers Protest Governor’s Proposal to Weaken their Rights
On Tuesday, hundreds of San Francisco’s workers came before the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE) to protest Governor Schwarzeneggers’s proposal to ease laws protecting a worker’s right to lunch breaks. While groups like the California Labor Federation (CLF) gathered at a press conference to condemn the governor’s continual erosion of worker’s rights, the DLSE heard from a diverse group of workers pleading for protection from abusive employers....
